Cycle in the City |

Este and I have been riding bicycles steadily for the last three and a half years after meeting in Dallas. In that time, we've gone from a simple two, maybe three mile ride - to cycling eight to ten miles nearly every day, and seventeen miles a day or more on the weekends. |

Este purchased her Cannondale F500 in Dallas for a measly $1200 dollars. The Cannondale bicycles are handmade in the USA and are pretty sweet rides - a favorite with many cyclists on the planet. If you study the bike, you can't beat the quality and workmanship. |

I originally bought my Diamondback in White Marsh, Maryland, at a cost of only $800 bucks, stock. I liked the lines of the bike immediately; the Voyager III curves to the rear wheel in a flowing manner, sort of a retro-styling that reminds me of the nineteen forties era. |

Now my upgrades? that's another story. I ride a lot more than my wife - the Diamondback has close to two thousand miles of wear on her to date...
I probably have $1800 or so invested into customizing the bike - well worth it on a health standpoint. |

Este and I look forward to the long weekend rides to downtown. We leave the Resort by the Sea, ride the back roads running parallel to Ocean Drive, and cycle through the different neighborhoods eventually leading to downtown Corpus Christi. |

Our favorite stopping point, the Aqua Java Cafe, offers a multitude of coffees, teas, juices and sandwiches, located off Water Street in the heart of Corpus Christi. |
